Topping up his phone with $1000 or more Digicel credit everyday saw Coldingen resident, Mahendra Samar, being the first person to win a new Toyota Rush SUV as part of the Digicel’s Guyana ‘Summa Rush’ promotion yesterday.

Samar is one of five persons who collected the letters R-U-S-H by topping up, which allowed them to be automatically entered in a draw for a chance to win the SUV.

In addition to the vehicle, Samar also won a $100,000 cash prize. The remaining four also won cash prizes.

Speaking with Sunday Stabroek yesterday following the draw that was held at the MovieTowne tarmac, Samar disclosed that he was so excited about the promotion that when it was launched, he started topping up his phone.

“I was so excited, I say you know what, Digicel give me this opportunity to win a brand new Rush and decided that I want to get in the draw. Samar said that every day he would put $1000 credit in his phone, sometimes $2000 and one time even $4000.

He recalled that he had entered a similar promotion with Digicel before but wasn’t this fortunate. However, that did not deter him from participating in the promotion this time around.

“I am so excited that I finally win this Rush. I hope to get the red, the color of Digicel,” he said.

There are two other SUV’s to be won as the promotion continues until September, 2nd. The second qualifying period is between August 6 and August 19, and the third and final qualifying period is between August 20 and September 2.

Customers spelling the word R-U-S-H within the qualifying periods will participate in the draw for a chance to win one of the two remaining Toyota Rush SUVs. All persons spelling the word R-U-S-H will receive $100,000 once the letters are verified and deemed legitimate.
