Please discuss Sheriff Street/Mandela changes with stakeholders

Dear Editor,

Since in the eighties decade we were taught about PERT. Newer management models have emerged including environmental inputs.

Sunday I drove the Sheriff Street/Mandela whole route from East Coast to the East Bank merge.

I saw a divider near the roundabout closing off the gas station turning.

The other dividers are not clear but residents please take warning!!

From Cultural Centre there are divider plans which I wrote about before which include lock-ins at TUCVille and NEL ap.

As you make the right towards Hunter Street destination the planned divider system is clear.

Why are we planning to “lock in” several street communities?

Imagine my friend Sammie who lives in South invite me to meet in West for a gaff and time out. I drive down from East Bank and make the left. Sammy has to drive down by the Hunter Street and battle a turnaround. When we leave I have to battle a turnaround maybe by John Fernandes or Shirley Square or by the well.

Personally I don’t care whose plans are being enforced.

Please discuss with stakeholders (again maybe) and do better.

Recall the fiasco and solution on Carifesta Ave.

Traffic Control Systems are used all over on roads,  streets, avenues but they take into account traffic users!!!

Highway traffic controls are obviously different including no pedestrians!!

So stop telling us about four-lane highways!! Stick with public roads for now and listen and plan better please.

Yours faithfully,

L A Camacho
