Golf action will continue at the Lusignan Golf Club today as the top golfers in the country gear up to host the “Farmsup” golf tournament, sponsored by Farmsup.

The tournament will tee off at 12:30 hours and will be a Medal Play over 18 holes net score shotgun start.

Registration closed yesterday as the tournament is held under strict COVID-19 guidelines.

The first-place winner will cart off a trophy plus a $5000 voucher while the person finishing in second place will go home with a trophy and a $4000 voucher. The third place finisher will receive a trophy and a $3000 voucher.

For the best net front nine and best net back nine, the golfers will receive a trophy and a $1500 voucher while the nearest to the flag winner will receive a trophy and a $1000 voucher.

The LGC has noted that players who participate in tournaments from September 18 to October 25 will be eligible for consideration for free entry as a player into the Guyana Open Tournament via a competition format.

The points for free entry will be for the first 10 best net scores for each tournament. Also, points will be awarded to the top five players for the day based on their net scores. The player who accumulates the most points at the end of the exercise will be declared the winner and can participate in the Guyana Open without having to pay the tournament fee.

All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament, to collect their score cards, pay the tournament fees, and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to tee off at 12:30pm.
