Six more Region Four residents with COVID die

Six more persons from Region Four, including five who were unvaccinated, have succumbed to COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the latest fatalities yesterday and stated that the country’s total deaths as a result of the virus increased to 893 as a result.

In a press release, the ministry noted that the deceased comprised three men and three women, who ranged in age from 50 to 71. One of them was partially vaccinated.

On Thursday, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony had noted that around half of the total deaths were persons from Region Four, which is the country’s most densely populated region.

Meanwhile, the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard showed that some 77 new infections were also confirmed 1,199 more tests were done. As a result, there were 3,398 active cases as of Thursday, with 19 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit.
