Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony today announced that beginning this week the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine would be available to all members of the public.

Anthony made the announcement during his COVID-19 update. “As of this week, we are going to open up the use of the Pfizer to anyone who would like to get the Pfizer vaccine,” he said.

Previously, the vaccine was only being used for the inoculation of children 12 years and over as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women.

The Health Ministry is also making preparations for the rollout of the Pfizer vaccine to children 5 to 11 years, following its recent approval for use by that cohort in the United States.
