The Affiance Community Cohesion Project is thankful for this book donation

Dear Editor,

Please allow me space in your newspaper to offer, on behalf of the residents of Affiance village on the Essequibo Coast, my sincere gratitude to Mr. Walter Persaud (Robin) of the Park Vue International Hotel at Farm, East Bank Demerara and to other members of the Persaud family of the Guyanese Diaspora in Orlando, Florida, for their generous donation of a number of children and reference books to the Affiance Community Library.

The library, which is housed in a building in the Affiance Mandir Compound and is open to residents of all faiths, is one of the projects of the Affiance Community Cohesion Project that consist of community volunteers working on social projects defined by the community. Residents believe that reading stimulates people mentally, it develops keener analytical skills and improve their memory. The donation can now facilitate a storytelling program, early borrowers and text books borrowers for students pursuing online studies, all free of cost.

Sincerely,
