Cocaine found in NY-bound Christmas cards

Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) ranks on Friday discovered 647.6 grammes of cocaine in five yellow envelopes at the Guyana Post Office.

In a brief statement, CANU said the envelopes, which were destined for Brooklyn, New York City, each had cocaine concealed in a sealed plastic pack in between Christmas cards.

CANU estimated that the cocaine has a street value of US$17,000, equivalent to $3.4 million.
