One more COVID death, 65 new cases recorded

The Ministry of Health yesterday said that one new COVID-19 death has been reported.

The victim has been identified as a 74-year-old fully vaccinated male, of Region 6, East Berbice Corentyne. He succumbed to the novel Coronavirus on Wednesday, May 18th.

The last COVID death was reported on April 13th, where a fully vaccinated, 76-year-old man from Region 3, Essequibo Island West Demerara died.

The country’s death toll from the pandemic is now 1,229.

 In addition, after conducting 915 COVID tests, 62 new cases were recorded. Region Two recorded 5 of those cases, while Region Three recorded 2, Region Four recorded 45, Region Five recorded 1, Region Six recorded 7 and Region Ten recorded 2.
