Applications are now open for the Miss, Mrs, Teen and Mr India Guyana pageants. The India Worldwide Guyana organisation which made the announcement on Tuesday said that the deadline for all applications is May 31.
Applicants must be of Indian origin; must be a citizen, resident or born in Guyana; and must have a passion for Indian culture and for charity. For the Miss India Guyana 2022 pageant, applicants must be 18 – 27 years of age by December 31, 2022; have never been married nor given birth. For the Mrs India Guyana 2022 pageant, applicants can be any age and can be married, widowed, divorced, with or without children. Miss Teen India Guyana 2022 applicants must be 13 – 17 years of age by December 31, 2022; have never been married nor given birth.
Mr India Guyana 2022 applicants must be 18 – 28 years of age by December 31, 2022; not married, a widower, or divorced; and have never fathered a child.
All applicants are to submit their biographies, provide two photographs (one half and one full posed) and their contact information. For the Miss, Mrs and Teen categories, submissions are to be sent via email to missindiaworldwidegy@gmail.com. For the Mr category, applications should be sent to mrindiaguyana@gmail.com.
The last competition was held on October 24 last year, where all of the categories were featured.
Like always, the pageant is expected to be a kaleidoscope of rich Indian heritage and will see contestants competing in Evening Wear, Talent, Ethnic Wear and the Intelligence segments.
The competition is also recognised for its annual Woman of Substance Award, which is presented to current and past beauty queens of Guyana for their outstanding contributions in various fields.
Winners of this year’s competition will go on to represent Guyana at the international leg in India. A date for the local pageant is yet to be announced.
