The first ten families to benefit from the government’s low-income housing units at Prospect, East Bank Demerara, can now begin occupying them.

Senior Housing Administration Officer,  Gaitree Ramawad, presented the keys to the beneficiaries yesterday morning, a release from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) said.

The low-income flat units are valued at a total of $5.5 million (inclusive of the cost of the land) and feature two bedrooms, a kitchen and bath.

Construction of a total of fifty homes was undertaken by the CH&PA. The keys for the other units are expected to be handed over as the beneficiaries finalize the necessary documentation.
