Shop owner charged with damaging property

A shop owner was yesterday charged with damaging another person’s property.

Rajesh George, of Princes Street, Lodge, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge after he was arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Rondel Weaver.

The charge against George states that on June 1, 2022, at Princes Street, Lodge, he unlawfully and maliciously destroyed a Samsung cellphone valued at $68,000, property of Roshelle Daniels.

The father of four was granted bail in the sum of $40,000.

The matter was adjourned until July 13, 2022.
