The autopsy conducted on the remains of twenty-eight-year-old Saigon Hopkinson, of Bartica, Region Seven, has revealed that he died from chemical inhalation.

The autopsy was conducted by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh on Friday afternoon at the Suddie Mortuary.

Hopkinson was found lying motionless on June 6 in a fuel tank at Adventure, Region Two. He was working as a boat captain with David Wong to transport fuel from Bartica to Adventure.

Wong had told Stabroek News that his workers moored at David Shurland’s wharf at Adventure around 05:00 hrs that morning. He said his brother then went and checked for the workers around 05:30 hrs when the captain’s body was discovered in a fuel tank.

Hopkinson’s co-workers were clueless about how he ended up in the tank.
