One more death, 77 new COVID-19 cases confirmed

An 88-year-old woman of Region Four, Demerara-Mahaica, who succumbed on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, has been added to the country’s list of COVID-19 fatalities.

With the death of the woman, whose vaccination status was unknown, the country’s death toll from the virus increased to 1,255.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health’s updated COVID-19 dashboard yesterday showed that a total of 77 new COVID-19 cases were recorded after of 752 tests were done. The cases were recorded from Region Two (7 cases), Region Three (3 cases), Region Four (55), Region Six (9), Region Seven (1), and Region Ten (2).

Two persons were also in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, while 26 were in institutional isolation and 826 in home isolation, the dashboard showed.
