A North Ruimveldt man was yesterday remanded after he was charged with the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Dwayne Lowrence of Lot 2499 Osamo Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, denied the charges which state that on July 11, 2022, at Kitty Public Road, Georgetown, he had in his possession a 9mm pistol when he was not the holder of a firearm licence.
Lowrence was also accused of having in his possession 6 live 9mm rounds of ammunition, also while he was not the holder of a firearm licence.
The man was remanded by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and the matter adjourned until August 27th.
