Slingerz FC dismantled Crane 5-0, when the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Senior Men’s League continued at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
The rout commenced in the 10th minute as Delon Lanferman scored, racing onto a loose ball, and finishing past the custodian, after a failed clearance by the defender.
The lead grew to a 2-0 in the 25th minute under fortuitous circumstances, as a Deon Alfred strike from outside the box, slipped through the legs of the goalkeeper and settled into the back of the net.
One minute later the score ballooned to 3-0, as Jamal Perreira netted, directing the ball unchallenged with his chest into the back of the net, after receiving a right sided cross from Lanferman. 4-0 was then realised in the 34th minute in the form of Leo Lovell.
The score-line was eventually sealed in the 55th minute, as Alfred recorded his double, racing onto a through pass before slotting beyond the reach of the advancing goalkeeper.
