Mohamed’s Enterprises of Lot 29 Lombard Street today distanced itself from allegations made by policeman Dion Bascom in relation to the killing of Ricardo Fagundes last year outside of Palm Court.

In a statement, Mohamed’s Enterprise, a gold trading and cambio business, said the allegations made by Bascom are “distressing” and aimed at tarnishing the company’s reputation.

It made the following points:

-Mohamed’s Enterprise was never subjected to any investigation in relation to the crime referred to by Bascom.

-It has no record that Bascom ever visited its main office.

-It has no record that Bascom or any police ranks approached its office to arrest any employee or to conduct any investigation.

Mohamed’s Enterprise said that it stands ready to help the police with any investigation.

The company also released a letter written by law firm Poonai and Poonai to Bascom alleging that Bascom had defamed company official, Azruddin Mohamed. The letter demanded that Bascom ceases and desists from the statements complained of, apologises publicly and pays compensation.
