Steeds out the gates tomorrow at Rising Sun Turf Club

If you are a fan of the ‘Sport of Kings’, then the place to be tomorrow is the Rising Sun Turf Club to witness this year’s edition of the President’s Cup, one of the nation’s biggest horse race meets.

 The highly anticipated event will see in excess of $15M in stakes and prizes being awarded to stable owners.

 Gates at the venue open at noon where free programmes will be on offer.

 The annual President’s Cup has become one of country’s traditions over the years and this meet is being dubbed the ‘biggest’ ever.

 Seven races are carded with the feature ‘President’s Cup’ one-mile race that has close to six million dollars as the prize package.

 The winning stable owner will pocket an appetizing $3million and the coveted President’s Cup trophy.

 The second prize will be $1.5M, while the third prize stable will pocket half that amount for the fixture which is organized by the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Committee.

 According to the programme, steeds like Guyana Cup winner, Alado, Lucky Star, Early Bird, Cover Photo, Jessica’s Pride, Looking to Heaven, Calibogue Sound, Coup D’Etat and Converter will be in the starting gate for the showpiece event.

In total, more than 60 horses are set to be saddled.

 The top jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organizers and Trophy Stall. 

 Admission is set at $2000.

 The list of major sponsors for the President’s Cup includes Banks DIH Limited, AJM Enterprise and Jumbo Jet Auto Sales.
