Over 16 households in Burma, Region Five, are expected to benefit from the upgrade of the Champagne Road, which was recently completed.

According to the Ministry of Public Works, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar last month met with the new contractor, Timehri Contracting, to emphasise the need for the roadworks to be conducted in an efficient manner in line with the ministry’s specifications.

The upgraded road, which cost $64 million, measures 964m in length, by 12 ft width and is made of asphaltic concrete.

The ministry noted that though the project was initially tendered in 2019, it was terminated this year due to the contractor’s poor performance.

Minister Indar had engaged the residents, regional officials and community leaders on the works to be executed under the new contract.
