A twenty-seven-year-old gas station pump attendant is calling on the police to continue to search for the man who hit him in his head and dealt him several chops on October 30th.

Kemraj Ramcharran aka Keron of Cotton Field, Region Two was attacked at his workplace “Rif’s gas station” at Anna Regina at around 9 pm.

A cutlass and a piece of wood were used to hit the pump attendant in his head before the assailant escaped in a fully tinted motorcar. Ramcharran is calling for the police to continue to investigate the matter. Ramcharran has been working as a pump attendant for over 8 years at the said gas station.

Speaking with Stabroek News, Ramcharran said that he recalled a tinted motorcar pulling up at the gas station. He said that he thought that the driver wanted gas so he went to fill  the car up but after five minutes the gas tank cover had still not been opened. He said that a male who was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle lowered the car window and started to verbally abuse him. He said the driver of the cream-coloured motorcar then came out and started to threaten to “jook” him up. He said he noticed a female exit the vehicle and it happened to be another pump attendant’s sister.

“I told them if they behave so they will have to leave,” Ramcharran said. Ramcharran was closing up around 10 pm when he felt an impact on his head. He said he felt something hot run down his neck and he could not recall anything else.

“All I remember is that I woke up at GPHC and in pain, I only remember dropping to the ground nothing else,” Ramcharran said. He said that to receive the treatment he has to travel to the city. The father of one is calling on the police to continue to investigate the matter.

The CCTV footage of the incident was extracted and handed over to the police.
