DC Caesar Fox engages traditional foe Christianburg/Wismar at 19:30hrs, while defending champion Annai battles St. Benedict of Trinidad and Tobago at 17:30hrs this evening in the semi-final round of the KFC Goodwill Schools Football Series at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organization, said, “Like I mentioned before these guys [DC Caesar Fox and Annai] were very impressive from the first game, and the only difficulty the tournament has incurred is the maneuvering between the two venues.”

He further said, “I am really impressed with the local teams except Golden Grove which we would have identified had some issues heading into the event. But the hinterland teams and the Linden team have really stepped up to match the foreign teams and have even eliminated SVB of Suriname which is something we should all be proud of. I think DC Caesar Fox is on a mission and Annai is out to prove their mettle as defending champion.”

DC Caesar Fox of Region #7 sealed their berth to the elimination round, after beating St. Benedict 2-0 on Monday evening at the same venue in their final group stage fixture.

Following a scoreless first half, two goals in the space of four minutes confined the visitors to defeat. Kemron Thomas broke the deadlock compliments of a 60th-minute strike.

The result of the contest was sealed four minutes later, Kenwen Percy etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. They will now oppose Christianburg/Wismar for a place in the championship encounter.

Similarly, Annai of Region #9 earned their semi-final berth following a hard-fought 2-1 victory against SVB Academy of Suriname. Shavezz Moses and Guy Moses found the back of the net in the 28th and 58th minutes respectively.
