DC Caesar Fox to battle St. Benedict’s to crown new KFC Football Champion

A new champion will be crowned in the KFC Goodwill Series Football Championship tomorrow, as holders Annai Secondary went down to St. Benedict’s of Trinidad and Tobago 1-2 last night in the semi-final section at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

The Trinidad and Tobago outfit secured the come from behind win following conversions from Jerrell Griffith and Raheem Nelson in the 39th and 80th minute respectively. For the loser, Davey Jacobus found the back of the net in the 20th minute.

St. Benedict’s will now oppose DC Caesar Fox [formerly Waramadong] in the championship fixture tomorrow at the same venue, after the latter defeated traditional rival Christianburg/Wismar 2-0 in the second semi-final encounter.

Deomar Henrito and Bevon Jones etched their name on the scorer’s sheet in the 33rd and 88th minute respectively. The losing semi-finalists will compete in the traditional third place playoff.
