Ministry holds housing drive at Camp Ayanganna

Joint Services housing drive: At the close of yesterday’s exercise at Base Camp Ayanganna, more than 600 ranks were attended to by housing and banking officials during a housing drive. The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, the New Building Society and Citizens Bank altogether processed documentation for 150 ranks.
Joint Services housing drive: At the close of yesterday’s exercise at Base Camp Ayanganna, more than 600 ranks were attended to by housing and banking officials during a housing drive. The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, the New Building Society and Citizens Bank altogether processed documentation for 150 ranks.

In keeping with a commitment by President Irfaan Ali, Base Camp Ayanganna was yesterday a hive of activity as soldiers from all bases as well as other members of the Joint Services were assisted with accessing various types of housing assistance.

The initiated was hosted by the Ministry of Housing.

A release from the Guyana Defence Force said that the ministry has also collaborated with local lending institutions to ensure that ranks are able to at least attain qualification for housing loans.

Several booths were established to cater for first-time applicants, applicants already being processed, title applications as well as persons interested in benefitting from the Government’s steel and cement distribution drive as well as related queries.

A release from the Central Housing and Planning Authority said that the initiative was welcomed by GDF  Chief of Staff, Brigadier Godfrey Bess.

Meanwhile, Minister of Housing and Water,  Collin Croal, stated that the exercise is a part of the government meeting the needs of its people especially those in the Joint Services.

Chief Executive Officer of the CHPA, Sherwyn Greaves was also at the event.
