Mohamed’s Enterprise supports Kashif and Shanghai ‘One Guyana Futsal’

Mohamed’s Enterprise continued their long standing partnership with the Kashif and Shanghai Organization by donating the first place prize and the respective trophies for the impending ‘One Guyana’ National Futsal Championship.

This was confirmed yesterday during a simple presentation ceremony held at the company’s Lombard street headquarters. The company will donate the $1,000,000 which will be pocketed by the resulting victor, while they will also contribute the respective positional accolades and individual awards.

Nazar Mohamed, proprietor of the establishment, said that the entity is pleased to be associated with the promotional entity, noting that partnership has existed for almost four decades.

“Sustainability and longevity are the two words that I thought about and this is what the company stands for”, he explained.

According to Mohammed, sports is very important as it unifies everyone despite ethnic and religious differences, adding that the Kashif and Shanghai group have stood out amongst the other organizers in the country.

Meanwhile, Co-Director of the Kashif and Shanghai Organization, and Chairman of the National Sports Commission Kashif Muhammad said that the company has been the most tenured sponsor and that the entity is extremely grateful for the continued support.

The tournament, which will feature 18 playing dates, will commence on April 9th and conclude May 20th. It will feature 32 teams competing in a group-stage featuring eight pools of four. Upon the end of the group section, the top two finishers in each pool will advance to the knockout round.

The National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue will be utilised for the majority of the event, with the final penciled in for the National Park, Thomas Lands.

The competing teams are [Georgetown] Road Warriors, Leopold Street, Back Circle, Sparta Boss, Stabroek Ballers, Future Stars, Gold is Money, Bent Street, Tiger Bay, Avocado Ballers, Albouystown, Alexander Village, Sophia, Foot Steppers, Vengy, Kitty (Spanish), Kingston, [West Demerara] Showstoppers, Pouderoyen Brothers, Jetty Ballers, [East Bank], Ballerz Empire, Bagotstown Warriors, Ramsay Clan, [East Coast], Beterverwagting, Melanie, Vryheid’s Lust, Team Diamond, [Linden], Mackenzie All-Stars, Wismar All-Stars, [Berbice] New Amsterdam United, and [Bartica] Mighty Ruler.

The winner of the tournament will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will receive $500,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively. On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player of the event will receive a motorcycle.
