The Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation (DHBC) today said that its asphalt plant will be down for two weeks from April 12 to April 27, 2023.

In a notice in today’s Sunday Stabroek, the DHBC said the downtime for the Vriesland, West Bank Demerara plant is to facilitate critical maintenance work.

The DHBC said the works have become critical due to the deterioration of the DM50 Mobile Plant’s aged dryer drum.

“The changeover is absolutely necessary to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the Asphalt Plant”, the DHBC said.

Customers can source asphalt supplies from the DHBC’s Eco-2000 plant at the Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara.

“We are prepared to work around the clock to service the Asphalt needs of the West Side during the transition period”, the DHBC said.

It listed the following support numbers: 266-5229 and 624-6266.
