The Lucas Stock Index gained 0.984 percent during the third period of trading in March 2023 on the sale of 48,858 shares. The stocks of seven companies changed hands with one Climber and four Tumblers influencing the direction of the change.
The stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) gained 7.317 percent on the sale of 13,245 shares, recovering most of the value it had lost in the previous week. However, the gains from DIH’s stocks were tempered by the losses observed in four of the other six traded stocks.
The biggest drop came from the stocks of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) which price fell 5.688 on the sale of 6,200 shares. The stock price of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) fell 0.527 percent on the sale of 9,981 shares. In addition, the stock price of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) fell 0.261 percent on the sale of 5,824 shares while that of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) declined 0.190 percent on the sale of 8,485 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) held steady on the sale of 123 and 5,000 shares respectively.
