“It is like a fight for survival. You are anxious most of the times, because you don’t know what will be the next move.

“Sometimes I feel as if I am going crazy, like life is just slipping me by.

“The worst thing a woman could do is marry to a man that don’t talk.

I questioned over and over, how could a beautiful 23-year-old woman with so much happening give up on life?

Early this month (June 4th to be exact) I wrote about a sister who endured years of domestic abuse and felt she had no alternative but to remain in the situation.

This week I am sure has been a troubling one for most of us with the horrific allegations of rape against sitting Government Minister Nigel Dharamlall by a 16-year-old school girl.

“Growing up my father was my rock. I looked up to him and it was like he could do no wrong.

There is a WhatsApp message being circulated on social media, in which apparently a father demanded $10,000 from the $40,000 given for his child under the Ministry of Education’s ‘Because We Care’ cash grant.

“Sometimes it is as if she is giving up on life and at other times well I just don’t know if it is living or just existing.

  Earlier today,  ranks of the Joint Services were continuing their search for notorious convicted ‘death row’ prison escapee, Mark Royden Williams,  along with his accomplices, along the St Mary’s Quarry Area.

Guyana is mourning. We have experienced the worst mass fire in our history and 19 children (18 of them girls) lost their lives.

“There are times I cannot believe we have the same parents.

Today as we celebrate Mother’s Day the journey into motherhood shared by two mothers in 2021 is reprinted.

“Sometimes I ask myself where do you draw the line? These children are so much more informed and many times if I don’t catch myself I will become the child and he will be the parent.

“There are times when I ask God what did I do wrong?

“I feel alive. I feel okay. You know there are moments that you feel everything is crumbling?

“Is not the best job, but is a job and I guess I got to be thankful.

“It wasn’t the easiest thing and I had to battle with it, but now, looking back, I believe I made the right decision and have no regrets.

Today my sister Svetlana Abrams tells the heart-warming journey of supporting her young daughter’s dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
