Continuing testimony in his suit against Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited for alleged breach of contract, Managing Director of Precision Woodworking Limited Ronald Bulkan says that though the bank knew of its proposal to settle outstanding debts, it nonetheless reneged on what had been agreed  and he also referenced a mysterious deposit of $82m.

By an Order dated April 25th, 2018, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has fined the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) 5% of the total value of the dividend payable to the company’s shareholders for the year 2017.

Guyanese fisher killed in second pirate attack

A second piracy attack on a fishing boat in Suriname waters, nearly a week after the first, which left 16 fishermen missing, has resulted in the death of Guyanese fisherman Hardeo Beechan, Beechan, called Ganesh, 32, of Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice, was reportedly shot and beaten before being thrown overboard.
