Dear Editor, The ethno-political consciousness of the Guyanese masses has been evolving on schedule. 

Dear Editor, On Friday December 4, 2009 Guyanese woke up to the news blared across the two independent dailies that GuySuCo could not pay their workers their week’s wages. 

Dear Editor, I wish to refer to the article ‘Mexico to grant 10 scholarships’ published on Friday, December 4, 2009, in your prestigious newspaper relating to the scholarships offered by the Government of Mexico to the countries which are members of Caricom. 

Dear Editor, The PPP/C’s record on governance and human rights has been sordid. 

Dear Editor, I write on a few randomly selected stories to close out another demanding year. 

Dear Editor, Life is all about making decisions, decisions, decisions.  What to study, what to wear, whether and where to work, how much to confide in your doctor or attorney-at-law, when to marry (and sometimes whom), when to divorce and so on.

Dear Editor, I wish to ‘block a sound’ (Rastafarian ‘to say’) on Mr Sharma Solomon’s letter ‘Economic security for Linden is not a hopeless dream’ (Sunday Stabroek, November 29). 

Dear Editor, We are living in a society that has been getting from bad to worse because we have fallen morally, intellectually and spiritually.

Dear Editor, Let me take time out to wish the members and executives of the Peoples National Congress Reform every success at the party’s General Council Meeting scheduled to be held today.

Dear Editor, A few questions occurred to me when I read Mr Khurshid Sattaur’s letter on the income tax threshold (‘The income tax threshold takes into account allowances granted under the previous system,’  SN, December 3).

Dear Editor, Once again, I express my appreciation to Dr Randy Persaud for his comments under the letter titled, ‘Hold friends close, enemies closer and country closest,’ as carried in SN (December 4).

Dear Editor, In picking the right ideas for Guyana, Tarron Khemraj and Evan Thomas gave us some food for thought: 1.

In our editorial published on Tuesday, December 2 under the caption ‘Misrepresenting police conduct,’ reference was made to incidents of attempted rape and rape which had occurred at ‘B’ Division Headquarters in New Amsterdam and at the Springlands Police Station, respectively.

Dear Editor, When our President visited the Rupununi in September for the opening of the Takutu Bridge much work was hurriedly done on infrastructure in and around Lethem, such as roads.

Dear Editor, Please permit me to respond to GHK Lall’s letter ‘Hold your friends close and your enemies closer’ (SN, December 3).

Dear Editor, With reference to Dr Joey Jagan’s letter captioned ‘A pollster cannot be taken seriously if he is a political commentator’ (SN, December 2), Joey said that a pollster could be biased if he or she made political commentaries (when not conducting polls). 

Dear Editor,  I have been reading the blogs in response to the letter by GKH Lall, in SN, December 1, captioned, ‘Ask not what Guyana can do for you,’ and thought I would react.

Dear Editor, It is my belief that a country’s education system can get nowhere without a proper plan for dealing with the indiscipline of learners.

Dear Editor, The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) takes this opportunity to respond to the letter penned by Mr Michael Carrington, Alliance for Change (AFC) Region 4 Councillor, captioned ‘Restore tax allowance for dependants’ which was published in the October 28, 2009 edition of Stabroek News.

Dear Editor, From reading all the articles in the media about GuySuCo, one gets the impression that things are not right, and rather than getting better, if anything they will only get worse.
