No help from ministry for this needy family

Dear Editor, In trying to support a poor Guyanese single-parent family through a temporary period of rough waters and facing homelessness, I approached the Ministry of Social Protection for assistance to the family.

Was it not unconscionable to cast aside 7,000 workers?

Dear Editor, So the mining company’s decision is deemed ‘unconscionable’. Was it not unconscionable when seven thousand sugar workers, their families and communities were cast aside with no alternative plan to this day for their future well being?

A direct attack on press freedom by the gov’t

Dear Editor, I have refrained so far from commenting on the matter of government advertising in the Stabroek News, but there is nothing more that has disappointed me than our President’s position on the withdrawal of advertising from the Stabroek News.
