Christmas vending arrangements disadvantageous to small vendors

Dear Editor, Relative to an article in the Guyana Chronicle newspaper of Wednesday, November 20, 2019, ‘All clear for seasonal city vendors’, the Guyana Market Vendors Union (GMVU) is cognisant of the fact that such an activity is traditional at this time of the year and is meant to allow vendors, inclusive of seasonal vendors, to be able to share in the expected windfall.

Was it not unconscionable to cast aside 7,000 workers?

Dear Editor, So the mining company’s decision is deemed ‘unconscionable’. Was it not unconscionable when seven thousand sugar workers, their families and communities were cast aside with no alternative plan to this day for their future well being?
