Letters to the Editor

A CoI should have been ordered on all road fatalities

Dear Editor, Recently, a Commission of Inquiry (CoI) was ordered by the caretaker President Granger for the vehicular collision which occurred on the East Bank of Demerara two weeks ago where five persons were killed, three of whom were members of the Disciplined Services.

Mr Jagdeo must be held accountable

Dear Editor, Instead of Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo seeking to undermine the independence and work of GECOM, he should be advising the nation when he and the other opposition Members of Parliament are prepared to honour the ruling of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) regarding the responsibility of the National Assembly with respect to elections.

Only ANUG offers real hope for change

Dear Editor, As a subjective assessment, Mr Tacuma Ogunseye’s letter, “APNU+AFC coalition not ideal manifestation of multi-racial politics but is the best nation has achieved to date” (SN: 25/10/19) is not an exaggeration but tells us of the substantial distance left to be travelled before we could arrive at a sensible form of governance.
