Dear Editor,
At the recent launch of ‘indigenous heritage month’ Sydney Allicock is reported as saying that, “…claims for ancestral lands which our foreparents used from times (sic) immemorial to hunt, fish and farm” now need to be supported by a village improvement plan.
Dear Editor,
I refer to the letter by Kit Nascimento in your Tuesday September 17, 2019 edition referring to his issues with the physical works on Sheriff Street.
Dear Editor,
On the 8th September a report by online magazine Petroleum Economist attributed new discoveries to Government of Guyana official Owen Verwey “There have been some big discoveries and, by next Friday, we will be announcing another one… We are one of the hottest destinations for the oil and gas industry right now and that is set to continue,” this statement was made during an address at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Dear Editor,
My question will be very short. I just wish to know who will be held accountable when an accident occurs on the corner of Alexander and Charlotte streets.
Dear Editor,
I applaud the Chairman of ANUG, Mr. Timothy Jonas, for having the courage to raise what is a controversial and problematic issue, that is, the issue of migration to Guyana and the process by which foreign nationals can obtain citizenship (SN 15/9/19).
Airline travellers to Guyana –whose numbers continue to increase at an exponential rate with the highly anticipated forthcoming oil and gas industry – over the past four decades were exposed to and suffered from extremely poor service provided by international carriers – including the now defunct former national airline, Guyana Airways.
Dear Editor,
I wish to offer a response to Mr. Timothy Jonas, member of the political party ‘A New and United Guyana’ (ANUG), who wrote a letter to Stabroek News on Sunday 15th September, with the given title, `Cease all grants of citizenship to foreigners until stringent and clear criteria agreed.’
Dear Editor,
I note with considerable interest that the Ministry of Public Infrastructure has called in the contractor for the Sheriff Street expansion with regard to traffic management, but, clearly, to no avail.
Dear Editor,
Permit me to share a situation which was brought to my attention recently thus prompting me to write some thoughts regarding the apparent necessity for an attitudinal metamorphosis within our nation’s younger labour grouping.
