Cottage, Mahaicony

A friendly little village in Mahaicony situated approximately 51 kilometres from Georgetown, Cottage is a haven to its more than 250 residents, whose foreparents reportedly took up residence there in the mid-1800s.

The crocodile strikes

Wracked by dissention and uncertainty, compounded by the dismissal of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, known by the nickname of ‘Crocodile’ which he embraces, the army on Wednesday occupied strategic points in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, and deposed President Robert Mugabe, aged 93 and in power for 37 years.

The Tropical Mockingbird (Mimus gilvus) is a resident breeding bird from southern  Mexico south to northern Brazil, and in the Lesser Antilles and other Caribbean  islands.
