PM offers condolences over shootings

Addressing the nation last evening, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, performing the functions of President, offered condolences to the friends, families, neighbours and communities which are in mourning following yesterday’s shooting on Middle Street which claimed five lives.

He commended the “valiant efforts” of the Guyana Police Force which he said successfully contained the shooting, despite the lives lost.

“Today we have suffered much,” Hinds said, but added that “together we must strive to lower the level of frustration and anger within our society.”
