Aaron Finch recalled at the expense of David Hussey

SYDNEY, Australia,, CMC-Australian selectors have recalled middle order batsman Aaron Finch for the first two games of the five match One Day International series against West Indies.

Finch, a right-handed batsman who played in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka, was brought back into the squad at the expense of veteran batsman David Hussey.

Hussey appeared to have paid the price for what the selectors said were “concerns” with the batting performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

“A top four of Warner, Finch, Hughes and Clarke has good balance and the team looks forward to getting better starts than has been the case recently,” said national selector John Inverarity.

“David Hussey has been dropped from the squad as the NSP keeps a constant eye on the future”.

Finch played in the opening games of the Sri Lanka series but was left out of the squad after notching up disappointing totals of 1 and 4.

Also, Captain Michael Clarke returns to action after missing the final game against Sri Lanka due to a sprained ankle.

West Indies and Australia play the first two matches February 1 and February 3 (Australian time) at the WACA in Perth.

The West Indies also take on Australia at Canberra on February 6, at Melbourne two days later and Brisbane on February 13. (Australian time).
