Toddler’s tomb vandalised

The tomb of a three-month-old baby was vandalised at the Reliance Cemetery in East Canje, Berbice, and his skull and one of his arms were removed, plunging his family once more into grief.

Yadram Rameshant, called Sanjay, died of pneumonia on June 22nd, 2014, at the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was laid to rest on June 25th.

However, his final resting place was disturbed when a person or persons unknown broke into his tomb and removed the skull and arm. The motive behind the vandalism is unclear. Robbery has been ruled out since gold jewellery and $5,000 in cash that the toddler was buried with was left untouched. His missing arm had four gold rings; however,
