Compensation promised for Aroaima worker’s death – relatives

Relatives of the Aroaima Mining Company worker who was killed in an accident on Saturday said the company has promised to pay some amount of compensation for the man’s death.

Kevin Major, 36, of South Amelia’s Ward, Linden lost his life when the company vehicle he was travelling in lost control and careened down a hill, after one of the tyres punctured. The man’s relatives said Major was in the front seat of the bauxite company’s pick-up truck when it suffered a blow out of one of its tyres and the vehicle toppled.
