Guyana has been hailed as a bird watching destination on par with world class locations such as Costa Rica, Jamaica, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago.
UK tour operator Ornitholidays recently brought its first and completely sold out bird watching tour to Guyana from March 1 to 14, with tourists from England and Ireland.
The tour was led by Ornitholidays principal tour guide Mike Witherick who has led more than 135 tours to all seven continents. Witherick said that the Guyana experience is equal to any of the other locations he visited in the region and the local tour guides were well informed.
