-had been taken at gunpoint

The motor car which was stolen from a Sheriff Street businesswoman just after 6 pm on Wednesday was found abandoned several hours later on Cowan Street, Kingston, minus a bag containing money and the car keys.

This newspaper had reported that the vehicle was stolen while the woman was climbing the stairway to her home but her mother who was involved in the incident said that this was not the case and a gun had been used.
The woman, Rajpatie Bacchus, told Stabroek News yesterday that she, Nicole and her 4-year-old grandson, arrived at their Sheriff Street home located next door to the Sheriff Night Club around 6:15 pm.
