Le Meridien challenged as pipe laying for new hotel damages water main

A broken water main at Battery and Seawall roads in Kingston, in the area where the diversion of sewage pipelines is being undertaken by foreign contractors, is causing some discomfort to Le Meridien Pegasus.

The sewage pipeline diverted to Battery Road between Le Meridien Pegasus and the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD) with a fallen GPL utility pole and water from a burst water main flooding the works being undertaken by Adam Development and Urbahn Associates (ADUA) in preparation for the construction of an international hotel building in the area. The main was severed in the area yesterday morning by a dragline working with the developers Adam Development and Urbahn Associates (ADUA) cutting off the water supply to the international hotel and offices and a few residences in the area.
