Duo remanded over murder of Brazilians, armed robber

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded two men yesterday when they appeared before her on joint charges of robbery under arms and the murder of two Brazilian miners.
Ryan Clemenson, 20, and Charles Hackett, 47, of 99 New Grove Housing Scheme were not required to plead to the indictable charges.

It is alleged that on April 11 on Regent Street, Georgetown they shot and killed two Brazilians — Silverino Pequeno Alves Junio, 45, and Francisco Lima, 46. It was also alleged that on the same day being armed with a gun they both robbed Jose Alenor Ovido D’Oliveira of $1.5 million.
