City, police to look at ending vendor congestion

The Mayor and City Council (M&CC) along with the police force is to come up with an amicable solution to the congestion of vendors around the city, especially in the Stabroek area.

The congestion was noted when Transport Minister Robeson Benn conducted a walkabout to assess the new parking arrangements for minibuses in the city, a Government Information Agency (GINA) release said. The minister said although he was satisfied that the minibus operators were adhering to the relocations stall vendors were encroaching on the roadways causing discomfort to commuters and stalling traffic.
