Delroy James avenged his gym-mate’s loss to Gladwin Dorway when he defeated the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym’s (PRBG) competitor on Sunday’s third and final night of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association’s (GABA) National Intermediate Championship, Cadet and Under-15 tournament which was sponsored by Neal and Massy Group of Companies.

Dorway was on the receiving end of a number of attacks and bowed out to Republican power house James in the welterweight division
Two walkovers, two Referee Stopped the Contest (RSC) and nine full bouts were how the events of the final evening played out at the National Gymnasium.

Rondel Rowley of Ricola Gym and Laurex Stewart of the Forgotten Youth Foundation (FYF) Gym were the boxers who received the walkovers against Eon Baker (Ricola) and Mervin Austin of Young Achievers in the 60-64lbs and 110-117lbs categories respectively.
Ricola’s Marlon Daniels defeated PRBG’s Richard Williamson in the first bout of the night which was the Under 15 100-104lbs category whilst in the Cadet category, Harpy Eagle’s pinweight (101lbs) pugilist Imran Khan won against    Kelvin Josiah of Essequibo.

The Blue corner ruled the Flyweight (110lbs) and featherweight (125lbs) divisions as Essequibo’s Kelvin Moore and Harpy’s Stefan Gouveia floated away with victories defeating Derek Hyman (Essequibo) and Wencell Thomas (FYF) respectively.

A stiff battle between 112lbs boxers Orlando Allicock and counterpart Ashel Williams from the FYF boxing gym saw Allicock victorious after four rounds of the Intermediate clash.
