A 41-year-old woman who allegedly escaped from police custody was remanded to prison yesterday when she was taken before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Radica Parboo of Lot 27 Alexander Street and North Road, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge of escape from lawful custody when it was read to her.
It is alleged that on April 23 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown Parboo escaped from the police while under lawful custody.
The accused explained to the court that on the day in question she accompanied the police to a house on Hadfield Street to return an article, which she had allegedly stolen.
