Christmas gifts

On December 19, the volunteer group, Friends of the Needy handed over 100 hampers as Christmas gifts to various disabled persons’ organizations. A press release from the National Commission on Disability (NCD) says the handing over was done by Indra Chandarpal on behalf of Friends of the Needy. The NCD said that persons with disabilities are among the most disadvantaged in Guyana and there are a number of organizations working hard to reverse this. NCD Office Administrator Beverly Pile thanked Friends of the Needy for its donation. The organizations that received hampers were United Action for Differently Abled Persons, Guyana Society for the Blind, Support Group for Deaf Persons, Guyana Association for the Visually Impaired, Young Voices Guyana and Ruimveldt Parent Support Group among others.
