Mark – Computers

20090106foundationdonation

The Mark Benschop Foundation yesterday received 12 computers courtesy of an overseas-based Guyanese.
It is the second such donation received by the foundation and would go a long way in finishing the computer laboratory, founder Mark Benschop said. He noted that hundreds of persons had already passed through the foundation’s doors. Abiola Waterman handed over the computers on behalf of Odel Taitt. Also present was Earla Samuels, an overseas-based Guyanese, who said that she had pledged a number of computers and was currently doing the paperwork to get them into the country.
Benschop related that about 100 computers were pledged. He said the foundation planned to leave at least one computer in each of the various villages where it has undertaken activities. Benschop added that the foundation plans to start offering CXC courses soon. Omotola Smith, the Information Technology Director of the Foundations was also present.
