Police recovered a hijacked taxi intact some 30 minutes after two men had snatched it at gunpoint from the driver on Wednesday night.
Taxi driver, Andre Hill was hired at Camp Street by two men and shortly after was stripped of his car, a cell phone and $5,000. The men, one of whom was carrying a gun, robbed Hill at Dadanawa Street, Campbellville.
A police press release said that a mobile police patrol responded to the report of the incident, which occurred around 8 pm, and at around 8:30 pm the car was found abandoned at Roxanne Burnham Gardens.
