A 29-year-old man died on Saturday night after he was struck down by a motor van on New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara.
A police release identified the man as Hardeo Persaud of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara. According to the release, investigations revealed that Persaud ran out of an access road onto the main road and was struck down by the van at around 11 pm on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
