A Timehri man who according to reports was heavily intoxicated fell into the Demerara River and drowned on Friday night.

Dead is Mahesh Ramnauth who was said to be in his mid-fifties.

According to reports, the man was drinking at an undisclosed location on the Demerara River when he fell into the water.
