Seventeen children attached to the Drop-in Centre recently had a chance to have fun and shop for themselves at Fogarty’s store. According to a press release from Laparkan, each child received a $5,000 Fogarty’s Gift Certificate funded by the Alliance of Guyanese Expatriates (AGE) of the USA. The store, along with the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central supported this initiative.

The children, their chaperones and Fogarty’s managers toured the store and made purchases including ready wear, confectioneries and stationery. Fogarty’s also hosted a luncheon for them after their shopping trip.

Addressing the children, Executive Director of the Laparkan Group Vibert Parvatan charged them to act today, so that their tomorrow will be proud of its yesterday.

AGE representative Waveney Weeks brought greetings and good wishes from the US members.
